Poor's Search Engine

This is a extended ideal from google keyword. Some web sites pay for having a search function in their pages. There is a easy and free way to do this without paying a penny. Just choose a unique special keyword and put it in all of your pages, then you can use google as a private search function of your site. Every time you search, just put the unique keyword in to narrow the scope of searching only to your site.

Google's Index Cycle

As you seen from my visitors' log, googlebot crawled my page on July 31th. Since that time, I periodically check the google's index and cache, and I found they changed it today. That is, about one month later, they updated the index and cache. You can see it at google's cache now. Generally speaking, the google's index cycle is about one month.

Crawler Trap

How many people have visited my page? It's easy to know by setting up a counter in your page. But who are they and how did they find out my page? It's also easy to answer by looking at your web server's log file. Unfortunately, your administrator usually doesn't let you do so. I write a perl script to log the information when my pages were visited. Moreover, I want to know how often my pages are crawled by googlebot or other crawlers.

Google Keyword Ideal

Some people are talking about how to improve their ranking in the search engine, like making nepotistic links. Sometime you have to pay for a better position in the result. The easiest way to make your pages easily found from google is making your own unique keyword. Try to use this keyword "yyc211" at google . You will see what I'm taking about.
Choose a special unique word as your personal keyword, and put it in all your pages. After couple of weeks later (googlebot crawled your page and made index for it), you can tell your friends your homepage like I do: "Google keyword: yyc211".

Radar Detector

I got a speeding ticket of 233 dollars and 5 points on my NJ driver license. That forces me thinking to take a defensive driving course to substract my points :(
I also decided to invest some money in Radar Detector to avoid getting another speeding ticket again. First, I make sure it is leagl to equip a Radar Detector in NJ/NY . In the mean time, I also found the list of speed trap . That's good to take a look anyway. The radar detector Valentine One looks great, but I can't afford it. Maybe an Acura owner can afford this. There are many inexpensive radar detectors. You can first browse them and read some reviews in Amazon , then compare their prices .
