Thanks for you interest in our graduate programs. The Department of
Computer
and Information Science offers a range of graduate degrees including
specialized certificates, Master of Science degrees in Computer Science,
Telecommunication Networks, Information Systems Engineering, and Systems
Integration, and a strong research-oriented doctoral program. Students can
choose either part-time or full-time study and can select their coursework
from a set of strong basic graduate-level courses and take specialized
advanced courses on topics such as network security, distributed operating
systems, web search technology, plus many others. Students may also pursue
research with faculty members that are nationally and internationally
recognized in their fields.
Research and education programs in
the department are supported by
over $3 million of annual outside funding from government agencies, industry,
and
foundations. In addition to significant research programs in Databases,
Algorithms, Software Engineering, Networks, and Visual Information Processing,
the department has particular strengths in the Computer Security area. Polytechnic was among the first institutions nationwide recognized as a
Center of Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the
National Security Agency, and students taking a set of approved course can
