$1.5 Million Grant Awarded for New
Wireless Research Center
Polytechnic University has received a $1.5 million grant from the New York
State Office of Science and Technology (NYSTAR) to establish WICAT, the
Wireless Internet Center for Advanced Technology (wicat.poly.edu).
New Undergraduate CS Labs Opened
Polytechnic has opened four new state-of-the-art computer science laboratories
for undergraduate students in the CS program.
Three Faculty Receive NSF Career Grants
Three faculty members in the CIS Department, Profs. Yi-Jen Chiang, Gleb
Naumovich, and Torsten Suel, have received prestigious NSF Career grants
from the National Science Foundation, thus joining the departments three
other recent Career awardees, Profs. Delis, Hellerstein, and Memon.
