Qingqing Gan

Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering at Polytechnic Institute of NYU
Advisor: Prof. Torsten Suel

I graduated with Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at March 2008. I received my bachelor degree in Computer Science from Department of Computer Science and Technology of Beijing Jiaotong University in Beijing, China. Before joining Polytechnic Institute of NYU (previously known as Polytechnic University) for my Ph.D.study, I had one year teaching experience at theTraining Center of China National Computer Software and Services Corporation in Beijing where I taught courses for Microsoft Certificated Software Engineer (MCSE) and Sun Certificated Java Programmer (SCJP).

I am currently interested in software development/research job opportunities. My resume can be found here (pdf, doc, txt).

RESEARCH:

My research focuses in the area of information retrieval, data mining, and machine learning. I worked in Web Exploration and Search Technology Lab , where I developed new techniques for a variety of web search related technology, including ranking algorithms, spam detection techniques, query log analysis and query result caching.
